We stayed for 5 nights in mid-June. We were 5 adults and one teenager and had plenty of room in the two bedroom suite. We did the all-inclusive plan, which was terrific! The food was excellent, and the alcoholic drinks were also good, though not very strong (next time, I might buy some liquor outside the resort to top-off my glasses).
The all-inclusive was nice because we didn’t have to think about where we would eat every day. The inclusive also included special events, the hibachi steakhouse, and room service. Since we went in the offseason, we got a great deal! I called direct to book and got a %10 discount. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly with their cozumel mini submarine suggestions, and the resort is a short ride to the airport, downtown, and the Malecon.
The resort is very well kept. The pools and surrounding area were clean and maintained very well. The beach was pretty decent though the water isn’t always visible (two rivers flow into this part of the bay). Still, it was highly enjoyable! My family and I had an excellent time! I would come back and highly recommend for large parties, though I saw lots of couples having a good time as well.
The only cons are that as soon as you arrive, you are pressured into attending a sales presentation for a time-share at another location. My husband and I decided to participate in because we wanted to take advantage of what they were offering us (discount on massages and a snorkeling trip to Yelapa) in return for “90 minutes of our day.”
That 90 minutes turned out to be 5 hours! It ate up a good portion of our first day. Beware.
The other con is that wifi is $10.00 a day per device. It wasn’t an issue for us like our cell phone service extends to Canada and MX (most US cellular carriers do these days). If you need to access wifi, there are two locations on the premises (the sports bar and deli market) where the wifi is free.
David, Monse, Monica, Armando of the hotel were entertaining as the entertainment crew. They played volleyball with us and put on amazing shows, showing they are welcoming and competent workers and the housekeeping drinks and service were delicious.
